It goes without saying that Nintendo's 3D handheld isn't performing as well as it would like. Determined not to fail, Ninty has announced it's going to make more use of its dual snapper by introducing 3D video capture, alongside the announcement of a slew of new games and a new pink hue – for girls (obviously).
Speaking at its conference at the Tokyo Game Show, Nintendo confirmed 30 games are 3DS-bound, including Monster Hunter 3G, Super Mario 3D Land, The legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Mario Kart 7. It also confirmed that a software update in November would take care of its camera upgrade, which means you'll soon be able to add a third dimension to your movies, as well as snap 3D stills.
We don't know exactly when to expect the gaming goodies announced, but Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has said: "From the end of this year to the beginning of next, we are planning the kind of extensive line-up that has probably never been seen before in the history of video games." While that leaves us none the wiser as to release dates, it's pretty clear Nintendo is hoping for big things. Let's hope they go some way to saving its foundering 3D handheld.
