Ninty's delayed firmware update to our Gaming Gadget of the Year, the Nintendo 3DS, has just gone live – and it's just another reason to stick the maverick handheld on your Christmas wishlist. The 3DS – currently going for just £120 – now has another string to its 3D bow in the form of 3D video recording and playback, in addition to shooting 3D stills with the rear-facing camera.
The new features include the ability to create stop-motion videos and an interval (i.e. burst) mode with the 3DS able to shoot video at a resolution of 480 x 240, which means your clips shouldn't take up too much room on your SD card. The update also adds data transfers between 3DS consoles and a few additions to puzzles and social features on StreetPass.
The 3DS' games catalogue is looking better all the time – we're talking Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – and the price is low enough that we might just be tempted. Keep it up, Nintendo.
