Nikon touts new Coolpix P90, plus S series compacts

Every camera clan's at it so far in 2009. With Panasonic showing off their new Lumix snappers last week and Sony touting their Wi–Fi compact at

And top of the pile is this, the Nikon Coolpix P90. Rocking the kind of stuff you'd find under the hood of a decent SLR, this new bridge camera is bound to excite those after Bailey–esque shots without having to lug around all those lenses and the like.

For the rather weighty £380 price tag, you get  12MP, 24x 26–624mm zoom, a 3in tilting LCD round the back, blink and motion detection, ISO up to 6400 and 15fps burst shooting when you're trying to take sporty shots of your local pub team.

Nikon hasn't been shy about unleashing more models to back up the P90, with a slew of S series compacts, including the touchscreen S230 and S220, plus the S630 and S620, both 12MP, the former with 11fps shooting and a massive 7x optical zoom.

The compact line up is due to hit shelves at the end of the month, with the P90 heading your way in March.
