News Nugget – LG Optimus One on sale

My first smartphone goes on sale

LG’s put its Optimus One Android smartie on the shelf and you can go and pick one up today for as little as nothing with a £20 a month contract. It’s packing 2.2 (aka Froyo), the latest version of Google’s OS, despite being a bit of a wimp in the power department. You wouldn’t expect its 600MHz processor to make the leap to future versions of Android.

But if you’re after a smartphone on a budget, you could do much worse than rocking up at your local T-Mobile, 3, Carphone Warehouse or Orange shop and getting a bit of thumbs-on with LG’s latest. Or check our some of our other stories below.
