New iPod to pack video capabilities?

We had heard rumours that Apple was looking to refresh its iPod range in September time, and news from Asia is making a camera upgrade for the iPod se

The folk at TechCrunch have had word from sources in Asia that say Apple has placed an order for a whole load of camera modules that were used in the iPhone 3G S. This means that the next-gen iPod would come with both still and video capabilities, similar to its cellular sibling.

Even more interestingly, from the number of camera modules ordered, the source is suggesting that cameras may well be placed in "everything but the Shuffle".

This news backs up the appearance of some cases for both iPod touch and Nano from Taiwan that show a space for a camera, as well as the news we got of a camera-packing Nano back in May.

We'll keep you up to date with all the latest on this, but in the meantime be sure to check out our hands on with the iPhone 3G S and full review to see how the new camera fares.
