Rockstar Games has released a fresh batch of screenshots from its forthcoming Grand Theft Auto V – and, as always, there are little easter eggs tucked away for the observant. As well as obvious new gameplay mechanics – like scuba diving and HALO jumps – there's also the return of the minigun, much-missed since its last appearance in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.
Picking apart the background details of the screenshots yields further clues for the game – check out the NOOSE cop hanging on the side of his SUV during a pursuit, and the flammable trees in the background of that minigun shot.
It's almost enough to make up for GTA V's delayed release date – it's now set to drop on 17th September, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Rumours of a PC release have yet to be confirmed – as is whether the game will find its way to next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720. In the meantime, feast your eyes on those screenshots (click for bigger versions) – and refresh your memory with the first and second trailers for the game.
