New Dell Inspirons get designer refresh

Let's face it, we're suckers for a good-looking laptop. Finally realising this, Dell looks set to throw us some tasty treats in the next few weeks.Sho

Shots have leaked out online of its forthcoming Inspiron line-up. Replacing the 1420, 1525 and 1720 offerings, the new crop are expected to be the shrunken 14in 1435, standard 15in 1535, and out-size 17in 1735.

The pics reveal a tapered design stretching from around 38mm at their thickest to around 25mm at their thinnest – not quite MacBook Air proportions but then they do manage slot loading optical drives with an option for a Blu-ray hole. They also offer up to Core2 Duo T5850 2.16GHz chips and the option of built-in 3G.

The side hinges look like they've come straight from the tasty XPS 1330 and 1530 range and there's something distinctly MacBook Air/Sony Vaio about the keyboards.

Word is they'll be out in the States in the next few weeks with the 1435 trailing behind in October. Dell hasn't given any confirmation though so keep your eyes peeled for official news.
