RIM giving away free BlackBerry PlayBooks to Android developers

App wizards take note, you could nab a free tablet by porting over your existing Android apps to BlackBerry's fledgling tablet

After numerous price slashes, RIM has finally decided to give away its BlackBerry PlayBook for free. The catch? You have to be a developer and convert your Android app for use on BlackBerry’s App World.

RIM hopes that this move will bolster the roster of apps available for PlayBook users – which compared to iOS and Android offerings, is scarce to say the least – but will it be enough to entice people to pick up the BlackBerry PlayBook 2?
