New Apple iMac "almost ready"

The man in question is Shaw Wu, renowned in Apple circles for mouthing off about the latest goings on at Cupertino. According to Electronista, the new machines are "almost ready", but will ship with dual core rather than quad core processors.

This might seem an oversight, but seeing as Apple will doubtless unveil the new Snow Leopard OS at the same time, which uses Open CL technology to utilise the power of the NVIDIA graphics chip, it may not be an issue.

NVIDIA graphics have already been pegged for the new iMac, as well as bigger hard drives and more RAM. We'll be following this one closely and will be sure to bring you all the news as it happens.
