MWC 2012 – Nokia Lumia 900 is coming to the UK
Amongst all Nokia's shiny new mobile treats announced today at Mobile World Congress, there are a few titbits of news about handsets that have already done the rounds at CES. Still, they're pretty exciting titbits – like the confirmation that the Lumia 800's slightly better specced sibling, the Nokia Lumia 900, will finally be getting a European release.
Since its main new feature was LTE (super fast 4G browsing, in other words), we weren't sure whether Nokia would bother releasing the Lumia 900 over here in the UK. And the Lumia 900 won't come packing LTE in the UK, despite the fact that we'll be getting 4G by the end of the year.
Still, even without 4G, the Lumia 900 is a tempting proposition. The handset has been a hit in America with the same beautiful polycarbonate build as the Lumia 800, a slightly thinner body at 11.5mm thick and a 4.3in AMOLED screen that puts the 3.7in Lumia 800 and most other smartphone screens to shame.
The Nokia Lumia 900 runs Windows Phone Mango 7.5, like the rest of the Lumia family, and as well as the Carl Zeiss optics 8MP camera that we're familiar with from the 800, the phone also sports a 1.3MP front facing camera that'll take care of video calls.
Nokia hasn't let slip exactly when we'll see the Lumia 900 over here – but if this spec and screen bump over the Lumia 800 has you hooked on Nokia's new flagship, we're sure you won't have too long to wait.
