MWC 2012 – Alcatel One Touch Ultra 995 budget smartphone incoming

The Alcatel One Touch range is growing bigger this year, with the One Touch Ultra 995 smartphone leading the charge. Behind it will follow a One Touch TAB 20, a 7in Wi-Fi tablet, later in the year. But right now it’s all about the 1.4GHz Ultra and its 4.3in display.
The Ultra features a plenty useful 5MP camera that manages HD recording – probably 720p since Alactel hasn't specified – and a handy HDMI output.
Even though you’ll be getting 124g of impressive hardware for a great price, it's not all good news – you’ll be stuck with the aging Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. An Ice Cream Sandwich update is likely incoming soon, as Alcatel plans to launch its TAB 20 with that very OS – but it won't be until later in the year.

If it comes out at a reasonable price it might just end up replacing my ZTE Skate, a processor that speed will be a good upgrade.
