Motorola is rumoured to be releasing its RAZR HD and RAZR HD Maxx handsets this October – in direct competition with the iPhone 5.
The handsets – according to Hot Hardware's "very reliable source" – will arrive packing Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz S4 Snapdragon processor. While the screens willpack plenty of pixels – 1280x720, to be exact – the display size isn't mentioned. Presumably the Maxx variant has more storage, and possibly a larger display.
From the leaked photo above the look doesn’t appear to have changed a great deal. It looks like the back – which would look at home in any WAG’s purse – is going to come as standard. Also the camera probably won’t be ground-breaking as it proudly states “HD Video” as if that were a new thing.
However, a Motorola RAZR with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and an HD screen could really impress if it still has the slim form factor and staggering battery life we've come to expect. But is it enough to compete with the new 4in iPhone 5? We’ll have to wait until October to find out.
