According to the chaps at Electricpig, an MS spokesman has claimed that because they now have 'a smaller OS footprint', lovers of Eee PCs and Aspire Ones wouldn't need a slimmed down system to get their machines playing nice.

It's most likely that new netbooks will run Windows 7 Starter Edition when the system goes on sale in the summer. That means you won't be able to use an obscene number of apps, but then that's not what these dinky machine are for really, is it?
