Microsoft is apparently working on a Cortana-powered wearable… for your ear

Hearing voices could soon become normal

Microsoft looks set to bring out a Cortana-powered wearable that’s designed for your ear. You could even call it a hearable, if you were feeling brave enough.

Whatever it’s called, it’s still apparently a fair way off from reaching our lug holes. According to Wareable’s source, the mysterious device won’t land till at least 2016, with prototypes set to be ready by the end of this year.

The actual build of the device is unknown. It could slot in or around your ear like a Bluetooth headset, or it might even take on the shape of a clip-on earring.

It’s unclear whether Cortana itself will be given a boost, but at the very least, expect to see the same voice-activated search functionality already found in Windows 10, Windows Phones, and the Microsoft Band 2.

That’s all the information we have for the time being, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted with any more news, as soon as we have it.
