Wake up! There's no time for bleary-eyed gadgeteers to adjust to the new year. You need to start drawing up you next Christmas list now, before last year's turkey is even cold.
Because four days from now we'll be reporting from the Consumer Electronics Show begins in Las Vegas, where (all but one of) the biggest brands in tech unveil their goodies for the coming year.
And then, on January 14th I'll be up in Macworld San Francisco to hear what the Other Big Brand has to offer.
The Apple rumour mill has been rumbling on over Christmas, with more talk of an ultraportable laptop with external optical drive (which sounds a messily un-Apple solution to me, but what do I know?).
Engadget is also reporting that Fox has signed a deal with Apple to allow movie rentals through iTunes, for viewing on iPods or a revitalised Apple TV.
And that's just the start... stay tuned, and happy new year.
