New iPods set for September 9

We've already caught sight of what Digg founder Kevin Rose thinks is the new iPod nano. And while the debate rages as to whether it's a Zune-alike fake or the real deal, MacRumors has turned its attention to the release date of the new PMPs.
According to their sources, Steve Jobs will take to the stage on 9 September to introduce the new nanos, a revamped iPod Touch and some swingeing price cuts to see off the competition and the credit crunch.
This would fit in with previous rumours of a September announcement and Apple's annual autumn jamboree of iPod releases. We'll obviously keep an eye on the Apple store and bring you any more gossip and news as soon as it finds its way to Stuff Towers.
What do you think? Will we be seeing new iPods next week? Let us know in the comments section.

The iPhone 3G PAYG is due in December, most likely the week before Christmas. Any official announcement won't come for a while.
