More new MacBook rumours emerge

29 Jul 2008

We’re certain that Apple is readying some kind of MacBook announcement in August. And more evidence (well, rumours) are mounting up in the wilds of the web about what exactly we’ll be seeing next month.

First up is talk of a highly unlikely glass trackpad, unearthed over at Computerworld. This would suggest either Apple wants to give us a peek at the inner workings of their killer laptop or are even prepping some kind of mini screen for your fingers to get friendly with. On top of that, the new machines will rock an aluminium casing.

And then there’s Apple Insider’s suggestion that Apple is keen to dump Intel and their new Centrino 2 platform in favour of their own chipset. Their model would favour better graphics, which Intel’s system struggles to deal with.

So there you have it, more grist to the mill. All idle speculation, or news to get Mac fanatics cooing? Let us know what you think in the comments section.

Yay ! I was starting to wonder when they were going to change the design. It's probably going to be aluminum and black, like most of apple's mac computers.
