iPod Touch Pro rumours resurface
The long weekend has got right in the way of a raft of proper, fact–based gadget news. But the Apple rumour mill continues to churn out its heady mix of tittle tattle from Cupertino. This time the news comes right from the top, courtesy of the Wall Street Journal.

The financial rag claims that, "People privy to the company’s strategy say Apple is working on new iPhone models and a portable device that is smaller than its current laptop computers but bigger than the iPhone or iPod Touch."
That's a pretty hefty claim, but does fit in with Steve Jobs' suggestion last year that the company had some "interesting ideas" about a netbook style device. Doubtless this would be going head to head with the Sony Vaio P series rather than the likes of the Asus Eee PC.
Seeing as a new iPhone is almost a banker for WWDC, we reckon Apple will give it a few months at least before touting the "iPod Touch Pro", with the annual iPod unveiling in September most likely.

Whatever they call it, it seems this won't be dropping until the traditional iPod announcements. It would be an interesting concept, one I think they'd look to tie up with the App Store in order to rival Android's arrival on netbooks.
