Gadget of the Day – Kymera Magic Wand Remote

It's been a few years now since Harry Potter and his gang of budding wizards hit our bookshelves and our screens, and now you can play wannabe wizard yourself with the Kymera Magic Wand Remote.

The wand-shaped, buttonless universal remote control can be used with any infra-red device, and has 13 different programmable gestures to play with.

With the flick of a wrist you could change channel, pause a DVD or alter the volume of your TV, and it'll save on battery life by going to sleep after 60 seconds until you pick it up again.

The wizard-tastic gadget was designed by two guys from the UK and has already shipped to 41 countries in a Christmas rush for kids and big kids alike.

Firebox is selling the wand for £49.99, but after a spell in today's Metro don't expect them to hang around for long.
