Electric vehicles (EVs) are city cars – they're not made for bombing it down the motorway. But now car giants like Nissan are trying to expand the green halo above EVs like Nissan's "CO2-free" LEAF. Its new recharging station at Nissan HQ, outside Tokyo, uses solar panels to grab renewable energy which is then stored for future use.
Haven't I heard this somewhere before?
Well, Mitsubishi is at it too, announcing its first solar charging station for the electric iMiEV car in California yesterday. And the Toyota Prius can be outfitted with photovoltaic cells on its roof so you don't run out the battery with the air-con. What's impressive about Nissan's experiment is that the charging stations could be capable of charging 1,800 LEAF EVs a year.
I don't live in Tokyo or California, though.
There are already solar-powered charging stations for EVs in the UK and British Gas showed off a couple of models last month. An end to petrol prices stealing all your cash? Just call us sun-worshippers.

First, it's hydrogen powered and then solar powred. It's pretty and good and I hope there will be a model like this one. When this happens, I'll make sure I'll fix the cold air intake.

Finally the world is taking the environment issue seriously. In the field of Eco-friendly cars solar powered cars are the new entrants. It would be better when we would all be able to switch to Eco-friendly mode. Till then we should drive safe and for that we need appropriate auto parts. Solar powered cars are indeed the next big things. The preference is now being given to Eco-friendly cars, fuel efficient cars. There have been great improvements in the car designing; not only ion cars but also in the vehicle sector as a whole, Bullet Travel Trailers is one such example.

This is truly happening for the best. But it would be a success when majority of the world population would be using solar powered car; or some other alternative fuel driven car. Till then we have to be responsible drivers. I have just moved to Los Angeles ; I am planning to buy a Honda car, so I need information on Honda dealership Los Angeles.

I've seen one of these electric vehicles at the auto repair Manchester NH service and I didn't know what to make of it. It's a completely different technology from the combustion engine cars. But unless EVs gain more autonomy on the road, they will remain city cars.

Well..A few days ago it was Electric cars that was the hot news in town...Seems like Solar powered cars have made a breakthrough as well.In my opinion future cars should be equipped with more than one power source so as to make use of the available resources when required.
