Okay. That, looks awesome
A fitting summary indeed, but don't let Audi's shiny new R18 e-tron quattro fool you with its slick looks – it's more than just a pretty face.
What's it packing??
Audi's new roller is its lightest prototype yet and is the world's first Le Mans Prototype to combine a TDI engine with a hybrid system. The R18's rear axle is powered conventionally but the front axle utilises two water-cooled 75kW electric motors which use juice created from braking to power them. A nifty tick we think you'll agree.
When can I see it in action?
The R18 will make its debut on May 5 at the Spa-Francorchamps six hour race before competing in the 24 hours Le Mans race on June 16-17, where it looks set to turn more than a few heads. In the meantime, the video below will have to do for the time being.
