CES - seeing double at Texas Instruments

Dual image technology

The image above might look a bit blurry but it’s not due to shaky-coffee-hands at all these early morning press conferences. No, it’s blurred because it’s made up of two images. The red car on the left and the blue car on the right.

Texas Instruments were showing off their HDTV DualView technology, which allows gamers to see one of two images on the same screen when wearing special glasses like the one’s I’m modelling below. This takes away the need for split screen when playing 2 player, which can get a little bunchy. It has fantastic potential for eventually making dual video images so you can be watching an action film, for example, while the other half watches a rom-com.

DLP mobile projector

They also showed me their teeny tiny projector, small enough to be built into a mobile phone.  It could potentially be used for watching films on the move or even better, for general mischief making.
