A Bridge Too Far (1977)
The cast, packed with Hollywood A-listers from Laurence Olivier to Sean Connery, takes on the roles of the soldiers of Operation Market Garden in an attempt to seize back bridges in Nazi-occupied Netherlands. As in Jurassic Park, director Richard Attenborough spared no expense.

Casualties Of War should be in there. The tension is electric and the film is barely watchable in parts. The subject matter, American war crimes, meant it would never get the Hollywood treatment but it made it a better film, Totally absorbing, it'll have you on the edge of your seat throughout.

For myself, A Bridge Too Far will always be my all time No 1. But Kelly's Hero's is still a entertaining romp.
