Just because they could – Parrot AR drone micro sculpture

Can your drone pass through the eye of a needle? Didn’t think so

Sometimes even the most seemingly pointless endeavours can be utterly mind-blowing and Willard Wigan’s micro sculpture of the Parrot AR drone is a prime example.

Measuring in at less than half a millimetre long, the solid gold sculpture with nylon propellers can’t even be seen with the naked eye, hence the requirement of a £50,000 high-powered Nikon microscope just to craft it.

Comparison shots next to a match head and needle show off just how breathtakingly tiny the piece is. We can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for a working version (piloted by pixies) in the near future.
