Like the look of Asus’s winning Eee PC, but fancy something a bit more colourful, a tad cheaper and with an even more stupid name? Then come this way lappie lovers.
Van Der Led’s brilliant low–end lappie, given the cracking moniker Jisus, is due to hit stores in Europe on April 25.
It comes with an Asus–matching 8.9in screen, 512MB of memory, a somewhat measly 4GB RAM, two USB ports, Wi-Fi and Ubuntu slapped inside.
Okay, the Eee PC’s current predilection for trusty old XP might give it the edge, but the €299 (about £200) price tag has got us reaching from our mothballed wallets quicker than Walt Mossberg confirming a 3G iPhone.
The Dutch company behind the Jisus even offers the little beast in an array of colours, sating posing needs that the Eee PC just can’t match.
Mind you, Jisus might be able to work cheap laptop miracles, but can he do multitouch? Asus, looks like you’ve still got the edge.
