Jays celebrates its 10th anniversary with these super buffed earphones

Look closely and feel the reflected happiness of one of only 200 owners

Ooh, so shiny and tiny.

Yep, the best things in life always are. (Except for sandwiches.) Swedish audio company Jays has been quietly putting out quality headphones for what seems like… well, it’s ten years, for that is the anniversary that these special, limited edition earphones have been made to celebrate.

Limited to ten pairs, then?

Nah, ten would be barely worth tooling up for – limited to 200. The design is that of its flagship in-ear, the q-Jays, with its removable cables and dual balanced armature drivers. These ones, though, get a special twisted cable and a highly polished stainless steel finish. That’s a marked departure from Jays’ signature matt black hue.

Limited and Swedish? Sounds spendy.

Not too bad actually – the q-Jays Anniversary Edition are €349, which is €50 more than the standard pair. That seems a fair premium for being one of 200 in the world. You might want to consider an extra €49 for the iOS or Android remote cable – although it only comes in that aforementioned trademark matt black.

About

Fraser used to wear a Psion Series 3 palmtop in a shoulder holster. Perhaps he still does.Either way, his lifelong mission - including fourteen years for Stuff - has been to see whether the consumer electronics industry can ever replicate that kind of cyborgian joy.So far: nope. Despite a plan to combine a action camera and Olympus Eye-Trek goggles to become Man Who Sees The Vision Of A Man Three Inches Taller Than Himself. He also likes mountain bikes, motorbikes, cars, helicopters. Still thinks virtual surround is witchcraft. Dislikes jetskis, despite never having been on one.
