Vodafone is the latest UK operator jump on the iPhone bandwagon – it’ll be offering Apple’s blower from January 14.
Tariffs range from £30 to £75 per month. The cheapest plan available is £30 per month plus £59, which gets you an iPhone 3G for 24 months, with 300 minutes, unlimited texts, Wi-Fi and Vodafone-to-Vodafone calls, and 1GB of mobile internet and webmail. A 32GB iPhone 3GS on this plan will set you back £239.
O2’s cheapest plan is £34.26, which includes a free iPhone 3G; Orange’s cheapest is £29.36, again with a free 3G handset. Tesco offers a 12-month contract for just £20, but you’ll have to cough up £222 for the iPhone 3G, £320 for the 16GB 3GS or £407 for the 32GB 3GS.
So, they still all seem much of a muchness. But it’s good news if you’re already on Vodafone and don’t want the hassle of switching providers.
