iPhone 3G sells a million

Apple has just confirmed it has shifted a massive one million iPhone 3Gs in its first weekend. It tooks 74 days to shift the same number of the origin

Steve Jobs has described it as “a stunning opening weekend.” In terms of sales, yes. In terms of getting people working devices, no.

After O2 and Apple’s servers went into meltdown on Friday, some users are still struggling with activation. We’ve also heard reports that the new phone does not recognise some Bluetooth devices that the original EDGE iPhone did.

Add to that its failure to work with a number of iPod docks and you’re looking at a rather troublesome launch, despite the big sales figures.

If you’re still not sure whether to grab one, then make sure you read our in–depth review and watch our exclusive hands–on video.
