Google Nexus 5
That’s changed now that the phone has appeared on the GFXBench graphics benchmarking site. Although we should take it all with a little pinch of salt, it appears as though the Nexus 5 clearly outperforms the likes of the Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2, making it the speediest Android phone around when it comes to gaming. It also matches the iPhone 5S.
Sharp screen, speedy graphics
Phone Arena reckons that the results point to the Nexus 5 coming with an Adreno 330 GPU, while the CPU speed of 2.3GHz suggests there’s a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip on board. The benchmark lists screen resolution at 1794 x 1080, an unusual configuration which is less than full 1080p on the longer edge of the screen, but still delivers a pixel density of 419ppi.
All in all, this info has got us more excited than ever about Google’s upcoming smartphone. It should be every bit as powerful as anything else on the market – and if Google stays true to form, will be significantly cheaper than its rivals.
