The first edition of this epic space opera was excellent and the developers have promised big improvements, particularly to the combat system. If it lives up to the hype it's going to be an early contender for one of the year's highlights.

Wii owners also have lots to look forward too. Not least Super Mario Galaxy 2, which will doubtless be another slice of princess-saving magic. But there's also Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, a motion control-enhanced revival of the first game in horror series.

Those after multiplayer thrills, meanwhile, have Star Wars: The Old Republic and the promising-sounding APB to look out for.

And then there's Project Natal, Microsoft's motion controller on steroids, although it's not clear when it will come out.
