With cloud computing more popular than ever, Windows-based online desktop nivio has today released its nivioCompanion that will allow its users to get online without the need of a full computer.
While nivio allows you to store up to 10GB of files online for a £5 monthly fee, the nivioCompanion will allow users to connect to nivio with just an internet connection and a monitor or TV.
Once switched on, the white box connects to the user's online nivio account where they can access all of their data, as well as standard programs like Microsoft Word, Skype iTunes and MSN Messenger
Apparently 70% cheaper than owning a traditional PC, the nivioCompanion will also save you money on your electricity bills, using less than 10% the electricity of a normal computer.
There are 10,000 units available, and will cost £99 complete with mouse and keyboard. If you don't have a monitor or TV to hook it up to, you can also opt for the package with an LCD monitor for £159 all in.
