Last year it stole some of CES’ thunder with the iPhone, and now Apple’s been at it again with the pre-MacWorld announcement of a new, fastest-ever Mac Pro.
Granted, it’s not exactly in the same league as the revolutionary mobile, but the new desktop doesn’t half pack some grunt. With twin Quad-Core Xeon processors from Intel clocking in at 3.2GHz and a new system architecture, Apple claims its updated flagship desktop computer delivers up to twice the performance of its predecessor.
It’s also the most expandable machine ever released by the Californian company, featuring multiple internal hard drive bays supporting up to four terabytes of hard-disc storage.
Graphics are equally expandable, with support for up to four cards driving eight 30in monitors. That should speed up your emailing and Facebook-poking no end. The new Mac Pro is available now, with prices starting at £1,749.
