The K supercomputer is reputed to be more powerful than the next five most powerful supercomputers combined and the latest Top 500 supercomputer list pegs its capabilities at roughly 8.2 quadrillion calculations per second. Whilst we’re not quite sure how many simultaneous games of minesweeper Fujitsu's beast can run, we’re pretty certain it’s more than a couple. Consuming the same amount of electricity per year as 10,000 households, the energy bill is likely to increase further with the planned addition of an extra 100,000 cores. Expect the robot uprising and the doom of our mortal race in the very near future.
