Fawlty navigation skills

Roll aside Stephen Hawking-style talking technology and make way for a new era of more palatable technological patois. Sat-nav specialist TomTom offers different downloadable voices for its products and has now secured its first celebrity offering

If you find the usual starchy tone of sat-nav narrators road rage-inducing, TomTom has the answer to your navigational ails. It has just secured the right to offer John Cleese's comedy chords as a download for its sat-nav products, meaning back-seat driving will never sound the same again.

Even the most short-fused Transit van man would be pacified by Cleese's directional patter, as he guides you to safety through the quagmire that is our road network. Aside from John Cleese, you can also download sexy Sylvia, who 'will help you reach your destination, guaranteed' apparently. The John Cleese download for TomTom products is 10 Euros and the other voice downloads are 5 Euros each. Click here for more info.
