HTC Desire S drops in with Wildfire S in tow

15 Feb 2011

HTC reckons its Desire S is "inspired by the HTC Legend smartphone's aluminium design." We beg to differ: it looks like a Desire. Still, it's a unibody design (like the Mozart) and has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor purring away in its belly. On the outside there's a 5MP LED-flash cam with 720p video and a 3.7in WVGA screen. It's hardly a bombshell, but the next generation of HTC's workhorse blower looks nice enough to us. And if, as rumoured, it ships with Android 2.4 (Gingerbread Mk II), so much the better.

Under the Desire S's wing, is a new baby Desire, aka the HTC Wildfire S. Again there's a 5MP (no mention of HD vids, mind), though you'll have to put up with a puny 600MHz processor. Still, it's only little – just 3.2in. Bless.
