The original PaintPod was a hit with us here at Stuff last year, but Dulux has decided to shave a few pounds off the price by getting rid of the self-cleaning mechanism seen in the newbie's big brother, and make it a choice for those with a smaller space or limited storage.
Yes, instead of setting the Pod up to do the cleaning for you like before, the Compact comes with a tap attachment for you to flush water through the hose.
The Compact also loses the mains power of the predecessor, instead opting to run on AA batteries, and simply screws on top of the special PaintPod canisters for the same splatter-less, self-loading roller system as before.
And on top of all that, Dulux have also gone and launched another 10 new colours to join the existing 33, so you should have plenty to choose from when you get around to picking up the roller.
The PaintPod Compact is due on the shelves in October for £44.99, saving around £25 its bigger sibling. Paint will vary between £21.49 and £31.99 depending if you want white or colour.
We'll be getting the PaintPod Compact in to give the Stuff offices a once over, so keep it locked for a full review soon, and check out what we thought to the original PaintPod when we got our hands on it last year.
