Don’t fret – Rock Band strums its way to UK

Wannabe rock stars, it’s time to drop your pathetic “real instruments” and fire up your 360. Rock Band is hitting the UK on May 23,

EA says PS3 and Wii owners with a craving to pound the skins like John Bonham or gurn like Damon Albarn will have to wait until “later in the year” to get their hands on the game.

For now though, Xbox owners will have the chance to rock out in their front room. 67 songs will be available straight outta the box, including stone–cold classics Wanted: Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi and Enter Sandman by Metallica. Hell yes!

That 67 also includes European–specific content, with Rock ‘n’ Roll Star, Beetlebum and, er, H-Block X’s Countdown to Insanity.

Downloadable content will also be available for a measly 160 MS points (a quid in real money) on Xbox Live. EA says rock hungry gamers will be able to place their hands (ahem) on new material every week.

If you can’t wait until May 23 to whip out your axe and mic, then why not take a look at Stuff’s finest rocking out to Rock Band in Trafalgar Square last year?
