Dell’s XPS One iMac-botherer gets UK launch date

It’s the news all-in-one PC fans have been waiting for – or at least those who haven’t already shelled out for an Apple iMac. A ship

The XPS One will be available in two flavours. A cheaper ‘gun metal grey’ £1000 version comes with a 320GB hard-drive and Windows Vista Home Premium, while the £1300 ‘Product Red’ model packs a 500GB hard-drive and Vista Ultimate.

The rest of XPS One’s spec list isn’t to be sniffed at either: both models also come with a 2.2GHz Intel Core Duo processor, 2GB RAM, a hybrid analogue and digital tuner, an eight-in-one memory card reader and 802.11n Wi-Fi, which can stream hi-def video.

Sadly, there won’t be an option of a Blu-ray drive in the UK to begin with as Dell thought this would drive the price up too high, but it did tell us that it’s something they’ll be looking to offer in the future.
