Creative teases with 32GB flash player

Creative, that crafty MP3 player maestro, has kept its cards close to its chest on what is probably the most exciting thing to happen to the digital j

It’s only gone and released the world’s first 32GB flash media player, in Asia this week. And, we’ve just heard, snuck it into the UK for a reportedly limited sale. You can spot it now on the UK Creative website for £285.

The 32GB Zen is twice the capacity of the iPod Touch, four times the capacity of the iPhone and is still only the size of a credit card. Though, much thicker.

Specs wise, the illusive 32GB Zen is much like its siblings. It supports WMV9, MJPEG, MPEG4, DivX and XviD music and movie files. It even likes music bought from iTunes, how about that?

Creative claims the battery will kick out music for around 30 hours, or video for around five – if you leave it on. And if you find 32GB just isn’t enough, you can stick more in its SD expansion slot – though we don’t know if it’s an SDHC slot like the others in the Zen range.

With only 50 odd units available, they’re sure to be snapped up like hot cakes.
