Windows-based iTablet arrives to mock the Apple iPad

If Apple’s iPad is considering changing its name to something less comical, it’d better hurry up – UK company X2 Computing has just taken one of its options with the new Windows-based iTablet.
Coming with a multi-touch 10.2in widescreen TFT or 12.1in widescreen XGA scree, the iTablet will come with Windows 7 as standard. This means plenty of multi-tasking, particularly with a 1.6Ghz processor to do the donkey work.
Unlike the iPad, it also comes with a 1.3MP USB camera, optional HDMI output and supports Flash. There’s 250GB storage to store all your ebooks too.
But a closer look at its specs suggests you might be better off waiting for Microsoft’s exciting ‘Courier’ concept. The inclusion of a hard-drive means it’s 35mm thick and weighs spine-snapping 1180g. And we’re not convinced a tablet running a full desktop OS is the way forward.
Still, the iTablet range will be available from April in a host of solid and metallic colours including white, grey, pink, blue, red, yellow and black.

In that picture it's running XP, yet you say 7 is standard on it.

Anything that runs on a windows operating environment is gonna crash at some time.... Trying to copy the ipad with windows is a waste of time.

Other manufacturers had their chance. Once Apple launch their version of a product all other competitors are abolished.

Without Flash, the iPad is a pointless device.

Considering that iPhone took the spotlight off windows mobile OS and most smart phones, I doubt that Microsoft is the one to stop iPad. And why Windows 7, iPad OS works great for the smaller 9" screen so why not at least use a mobile Windows OS.
BTW: iPad will probally add flash in a future update.

The problem with waiting for Microsoft's Courier concept is that it is just a concept. Not a prototype, not even a mock-up. Just an animation and some rendered images.
Come on guys, this is Microsoft. It's gonna be a long wait...

Any small "Reader" needs to be colour, capable of 2 page reading and can access by wifi digital newspapers and periodicals as well as books or whats the point? Where's the info on this? this means more to me than OS, camera size, etc.
