The Osborne 1 – released 30 years ago

Thirty years ago the world was introduced to the Osborne 1, the world’s first portable computer. Portable if you have the arms of Arnie (in pre-governor days), that is. The 10.7 kg monster ran in at a hefty US$1795 and the eye-straining 5in screen, 4MHz CPU and 64K RAM would probably be trounced by a modern Happy Meal toy, but it still holds a special place in our warm tech-fuzzy hearts.
