Sony pulls 2.40 PS3 update

03 Jul 2008

Well, after months of waiting, Sony’s 2.40 update, the one rocking in–game XMB (Cross media Bar) and trophy support, has already been pulled.Reports have been filtering in of consoles being bricked by the update, leaving punters with useless paperweights sitting under their TVs. Sony last night took the new firmware off of their website and said they were looking into the problem. The Big S has said they will “work directly” with any customers whose PS3s are now less useful than HD–DVD players.Has your PS3 been affected? Make sure you let us know in the comments section and we’ll chase up Sony.

And every1 slated the XBOX 360 for having problems. Sony had all that extra time to produce a console, and a simple little update (which is making the PS3 more like the XBOX 360) screws it up. I think sony have finally realised why xbox gamers love their console so much. I like how 'chapmanmania' went on his PS3 just to update it and then went straight back to his PS2. Very Funny!!!!!
