Sony PSP 2 – PSP Go! set for E3 in June?
Keeping up with rumours about the next–gen PSP has been a tough and tiring experience. But now we're beginning to get a clearer idea of what we can expect when Sony rolls up at E3 with their new handheld.According to 1Up, who have spoken to sources "directly involved with the project", the PSP 2 will actually be dubbed the PSP Go!, falling into line with their Go!View and Go!Cam accessories.Word is the device will retain the sliding style we've heard about, but not pack twin analogue sticks or a multitouch screen. UMD won't be on board though, with a download store offering 100 classic games, including Gran Turismo Mobile.Plans are afoot for two editions – one with 8GB and the other rocking 16GB for those after more titles.Sony is said to be plotting an announcement at E3, with a Japanese release pencilled in for September. The Big S is maintaining its line of not commenting on "rumours and speculations." It seems though, that this is on the cards for summer and we can't wait. What do you think? and if you have a collection of 60+ psp games that you like are they going to release software to make them transferable to the new psp go or do you have to carry 2psps with you when you travel

That's the million dollar question. Rest assured we're chasing up Sony to get more, but unsurprisingly they're being very coy about it all. We're planning our E3 coverage, so expect to hear loads here as soon as we get more info.

Is it just me, or does anyone realise that the PSP in slider form might just be too bulky to hold n play? I'm sure if Sony has decided on this form factor, it shud be okay, but still... i quite like the old form of my PSP3000. But internal storage rocks man! Just include DIVX/Xvid video formats too, Sony!

What is that blackish dot just to the bottom left of the D-Pad? It faintly looks like an analogue stick, but very small and embedded into the system. Looks as if it could be pretty awkward to use!

@Jackski_19: It's the standard analogue 'nub' that's been on the PSP since the original device was launched. It's not as accurate as the PlayStation's control pad analogue sticks, but it's better than nowt! There's no excuse for not having two on there now though. :(

With the average UMD game weighng in at roughly 450MB in size, 8 and 16GB of storage won't stay empty for long.

Gregz is right, to make it a real popular product, these days it should have a SD card slot. I know it would make it bigger and probably add about £30-£40 onto the price tag, but so be it, they will definitely sell more then. That is of course, if its idea is to expand to new release games, rather than just staying on classics, but if its just staying on classics then the price tag 'should' be appropriately low.
