PS3 VidZone service goes live today

11 Jun 2009

VidzoneSony has confirmed that its on-demand music video streaming service VidZone, is all set to go live today.

The free service is filled to the brim with 10,000 videos, and here's one for the fact fans – if you played every track back to back for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it would take you 3 weeks to watch it all. Wowsers.

To get your mitts on the free tunes, you just need to download the free VidZone application from the PlayStation Store, head to the music icon on your PS3's XMB and you're away.

Make up a library of your favourite tunes, and custom playlists for different occasions, and even sort out a playlist on the move with your PSP and have it sat waiting for you when you get home.

Sony has managed to get major music labels involved, as well as loads of independents, so you'll find everything from Pussycat Dolls and Black Eyed Peas to Tori Amos and Glasvegas, and you'll be able to rewind and fast forward them as you please.

Probably the sweetest thing about it all? VidZone is a London-based company so this a homegrown service – ain't that great?

The service should be available to download now, so give it a go and let us know what you think.

Yeah not bad seeing as it's from PSN. Bit clunky and navigation is haphazard, but great for just watching a few vids. Hope they expand regularly
