Orange offering up free Eee PC
Handing out laptops in return for wallet–wilting mobile deals is nothing new. Carphone Warehouse has been at it for months. But Orange has caught our eye with their first foray into the market, offering up an Eee PC 900 to anyone who fancies a dongle.
Of course, there’s a snag. And it’s a pricey one too – you’ll need to sign on the dotted line for a £25 a month contract, including 3GB of data and 100 texts for a lengthy 24 months.
That works out at a massive £600, for a laptop that’s soon to be replaced by the 900A model, which will pack a faster Intel Atom processor.
Still, in terms of free laptops, it’s the best one going by a distance. Our advice? Tread with caution. Maybe buy a netbook separately and weigh up some of the cheaper mobile broadband offers out there.

I think the 3G PAYG seems the safeest bet for broadband on the move. You should by the kit you need / can afford, not just go for the cheapest deal otherwise you will ultimately regret it.
