New Nintendo DS due end of the year

Nintendo has been doing a pretty good job of slapping down any talk of a new DS Lite, but it seems the rumours just won't die down. Now it looks like we'll be getting a new, beefed up version of the handheld hub, if Japanese journos are on the money.

The reports, unearthed by the gadget fans at Electric Pig, suggests we'll be seeing a model with improved Wi–Fi with access to special "information terminals", as well as music playback and built–in camera.

As well as making a play for the PMP market, Nintendo is also said to be doing something a bit special with the snapper, with baseless tittle tattle suggesting you'll be able to use it in a string of new games.

As ever, official channels are saying nowt, but don't let that hamper your belief that this will be reality in a couple of months. Maybe all those new features will come in handy with GTA: Chinatown Wars. Here's hoping.
