New MacBooks, iMacs and Mac Minis coming on 7 October?

05 Oct 2009

MacBookWe'd heard whispers that suggested the current iMacs and Mac Minis were on their way out, and hints that lighter, cheaper MacBooks were set to be launched, and now some leak Google ads suggest it will be just a matter of time before these rumours get confirmed.

The Google Ad Sense ads turned up on Netherlands Google searches over the weekend, and directed Googlers to pages on the Dutch Apple website that were not yet available.

It seems we have faster, thinner and lighter MacBooks to look forward to, as well as thinner iMacs and faster, cheaper Mac Minis.

Translated, the ads read: "Apple's Newest MacBook. Thinner, lighter and faster! Free delivery. Order today", "The Brand new iMac. Ultra Thin 20 & 24 inch models. From only € 1099. Apple Store" and "Apple's New Mac Mini. Faster and more affordable than ever. From only € 499. Order immediately".

Apple Stores have also apparently been reporting receiving new signage over the past two days that is not to be opened or put up until further notice. How secretive.

Signage or no signage, one thing's for certain, the ads certainly line up with the many rumours we've heard bubbling under the surface for the past few weeks.

As for when we can expect an announcement, restocking estimates of the "short stock" iMac and Mac Mini are being given between 7-9 October. Is this when we'll get the official word?

We will of course be keeping you updated, but in the meantime keep yourself busy with full reviews of the MacBook, iMac and Mac Mini.
