HTC Flyer up for £600 pre-order

11 Apr 2011

If there was any doubt that 2011 would be the year of the tablet, there isn’t now. We queued for Apple’s iPad 2, Samsung has announced no fewer than three tablets this year, LG has gone 3D in flatted form and we ran a story about the Motorola Xoom’s pricing details earlier today.

Now it’s HTC’s turn, and the company’s 1.5GHz Flyer (running Gingerbread, as opposed to the made-for-tablet Honeycomb Android version) is up for pre-order from Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy now. The price? A steep £600 – fully £200 more than Apple’s 16GB Wi-Fi iPad. That price will get you a smaller form and Flash 10.2 video on the web browser. But is it worth it?
