Google Chrome 3 released

So it might only be a year old, but Google has just outed Google Chrome 3 as a full stable release.

We first got our mitts on a stable Chrome 2 in May, but Chrome 3 has come packing some worthy improvements, including a more customisable tab page and a better omnibox, adding contextual icons so you can see what your autocomplete results are.

It's also much faster than any previous stable releases on both V8 and SunSpider benchmarks, while Google is saying it boasts a 150% increase in Javascript performance since Chrome's first beta.

Finally, Chrome 3 will support HTML5, bringing things such as video and audio to your browser without the need for plug-ins like Flash, and will come with a whole host of new themes as well.

Of course, Chrome 4 is already being tested on the dev channel, and if you've been playing around there or with any betas, this stable release may not seem all that exciting to you.
