Get Xbox Live Gold features for free from 25-30 November
Last week we saw the launch of the new social networking features on Xbox Live, and it seems Microsoft wants to give Silver members a free taste of what they're missing out on.
The new features, including Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm, join the likes of Sky Player and online multiplayer would usually only be accessible by subscription-paying Gold members, but for six days starting on Wednesday, Silver members will be able to access them for free.
Yes indeed, from 25 November to the 30 November access to all the premium features will be free for European gamers as Microsoft continues to promote the new additions to the service.
The promotion also comes not long after Microsoft banned a whole host of modified consoles from Xbox Live, now thought to be as many as one million.
Any Silver members out there tempted to sign up for Gold? Give it a trial run on Wednesday and let us know if you'll be forking out the cash for a year's subscription.

they need to reduce the price. free services on ps3 and you have to pay for the xbox. i hear xbox live is far superior but £40 a year superior when you have to pay for most things anyway? not sure.

I have recently got a PS3 and I must admit was very impressed with PSN, it certainly seemed faster to navigate. I am not sure what the live subscription goes on, as live isn't dedicated servers as far as I know. Luckily haven't had to pay for live the past few years, but Sony definitely catching up so will be interesting to see what MS do.
